Open Campus Jamaica (Camp Road) was awash with colour from the dressed booths and feather banners on our Open Day, June 29, 2010. The event was heavily sponsored by financial institutions namely the City of Kingston Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., First Caribbean International Bank, Jamaica National Building Society, National Commercial Bank Jamaica Ltd., and the UWI (Mona) & Community Co-Operative Credit Union Ltd. The sponsoring financial institutions were ready to provide guests with valuable information on their financial options to fund their education. LIME, complete with their mobile unit, the LIME Mobile, joined the Open Day in full regalia, offering products and services to guests, booth-holders and Open Campus staff. Camp Road’s Open Day was also strongly supported by corporate donations of food, refreshment and gift baskets for spot prizes.
The featured event of the Open Day was a 3-hour Outside Radio Broadcast with the popular HOT 102 FM radio personality ‘Richie B’. The broadcast was enlivened with performances by guest artistes including reggae act, Nesbett. Further highlights were testimonials by past students and interviews with tutors, who gave the Open Day guests and the listening public, Jamaica-wide, positive feedback and valuable promotion of the Open Campus and Camp Road’s programme offering, in keeping with the Open Day tagline “Educate Today for a Brighter Tomorrow”.
