What Do I Wear
The Ceremony for the Presentation of Graduates is a formal one, and Graduands to be presented to the Chancellor, Mr. Robert Bermudez, are required TO DRESS FORMAL AND TO WEAR ACADEMIC DRESS.
VERY LOW CUT NECKLINES WITH EXPOSED CLEAVAGES, EXPOSED NAVELS AND OTHER FORMS OF UNSUITABLE DRESS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. IF YOU ARE NOT APPROPRIATELY ATTIRED YOU MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED SUITABLE FOR PRESENTATION TO THE CHANCELLOR; PLEASE BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY.
FEMALE GRADUANDS are required to wear WHITE ONLY. Either dresses or suits are acceptable with BLACK SHOES.
MALE GRADUANDS are required to wear Dark Lounge Suits or Dark Shirt-Jac Suits.
We ask that you comply with these requirements.
All holders of First Degrees must wear the University Graduate Gown with appropriate Faculty Hood.
Presentees for undergraduate awards who are NOT holders of a first degree are required to wear the Scarlet Gown (Red Matriculation Gown) – [Associate Degrees, Undergraduate Certificate and Diploma Programmes].
Presentees for undergraduate awards who are graduates of The UWI or other Universities should wear the Gown and Hood of the faculty from which he/she received a First Degree.
