Open Campus Life
Open Education gives participants access to knowledge, provides platforms for sharing, enables innovation, and connects communities of learners and educators around the world.
History & Heritage
The newest campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) was formally launched in Antigua & Barbuda on July 4 at the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in 2008.
The Open Campus is an amalgamation of the previous Office of the Board for Non-Campus Countries & Distance Education (BNNCDE), the School of Continuing Studies (SCS), the UWI Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC), and the Tertiary Level Institutions Unit (TLIU).
There is no experience like an Open Campus experience. The Open Campus of the University of the West Indies is based on the idea that the high-quality university education, research and services available at our institution should be open and available to all people who wish to reach their full potential inside and outside of the Caribbean region.
Open Online and Distance Education incorporates open learning communities, educational networks, teaching and learning materials, open textbooks, open data, open scholarship, open source educational tools and more.
