Lennox Honychurch is a Caribbean anthropologist and historian born in Dominica whose research work is mainly concerned with contact and cultural exchange between the indigenous Kalinago people of the Lesser Antilles and arrivals from Europe and Africa. Resistance, marronage and Island ecology are also his interests. He graduated from St. Hugh’s College, University of Oxford, with masters and doctorate degrees in Anthropology. Published works include ‘The Caribbean People’ text books used across the region. Awarded a UWI honorary doctorate, he is a member of the UWI Open Campus Council and was a former member of the Dominica House of Assembly.
